About Public Safety Services

Madison College Public Safety Services is a 24 hour a day - 7 days a week service. The nexus for operations is operated from the Public Safety Services Central Command Center, room B1240, at the Truax campus.

The department consists of full-time, casual, and student help officers as well as security technicians and clerical support.

Public Safety Services works closely with the City of Madison Police Department as well as other local jurisdictions in order to enforce Federal, State, and Municipal laws and the Madison College Student Code of Conduct. This is done by routine patrols of both the interior and exterior of all Madison College owned or leased buildings by uniformed patrol officers utilizing foot patrols, bike patrols, and marked squad cars.

Duties of the Public Safety Officers include:

  • Routine patrols of all campus owned or leased facilities.
  • Noise abatement of loud individuals.
  • Eviction of non-affiliated persons.
  • Parking control of all district parking lots and restrictive areas.
  • Medical assistance to sick or injured students/staff/visitors.
  • Provide 24 hour access to campus facilities when requested and approved.
