Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP)

About AQIP

Madison College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The HLC is a Commission member of the North Central Association (NCA), which was founded in 1895 as one of six regional higher education institutional accreditation bodies in the United States.

The College is accredited through the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) process, which has as its focus an emphasis on continuous improvement of the accredited institution. The AQIP process has five core components: Action Projects, Systems Portfolio Review and Appraisal, Strategy Forum, and the Comprehensive Quality Review.

Madison College’s accreditation was last re-affirmed in 2008. A team of peer reviewers will visit Madison College and conduct the Comprehensive Quality Review visit March 28-30, 2016 as the final step in re-affirming the College’s accreditation.

Additional information about the HLC’s Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) can be found at the HLC website.

AQIP Timeline

Madison College has engaged in all AQIP processes (Strategy Forum, Annual Updates, Systems Portfolio and Appraisals, and Quality Checkup visits) for the past 11 years. Throughout this period, the organization works collaboratively with AQIP to ensure that Madison College is committed to quality improvement as well as its compliance with the Higher Learning Commission’s Criteria for Accreditation.

The AQIP Pathway has recently replaced the Quality Checkup with the Comprehensive Quality Review (CQR).  The CQR is a comprehensive evaluation that now is conducted in Year 8 of the AQIP Pathway.  Our scheduled on-site visit is from March 28-30, 2016.  Our reviewers will be the Chair of the Peer Review Team Mr. Timothy G. Allwein, Indiana Institute of Technology; Dr. John B. Gratton, New Mexico State University, Carlsbad; Ms. Lisa Joann Perez Miller, Pratt Community College; Dr. Jody K. Tomanek, Mid-Plains Community College; and Dr. JoAnn I. Simer, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.
