Advising and Registration (A&R) sessions are designed to give students newly accepted into a Madison College program the opportunity to begin their academic career on the right foot.
Come prepared to Advising & Registration, so you can successfully enroll in classes!
Step 2 - Submit Transcripts and Request Transfer Credit
Submit all official high school and college transcripts to the Enrollment Center. If you have previously taken college level courses, you may wish to request a Transfer Credit Evaluation. Don’t let this step slow you down! Proceed to Step 3, as you can take the COMPASS test even if your transcripts are not in yet.
COMPASS placement test scores (or Math and English classes transferred in from another college) are required prior to attending an Advising & Registration Session for proper placement into general education courses. You may choose to take COMPASS prior to your Advising & Registration session date, or participate in both on the same day. Be aware that while attending both in one day is convenient for travel purposes, it is also a significant time commitment (i.e. 8:30am to 4:00pm).
Step 4 - Register for an Advising & Registration/Orientation Session
Advance registration is required. Watch your email account for a link to the online registration form. If you are admitted to a spring 2015 program, you will begin to see email notifications in late October.
Step 5 - Complete the Checklist PRIOR TO Advising & Registration
Plan ahead and complete the Advising & Registration Checklist (PDF, 787 KB) before your scheduled session. Failure to complete these critical steps may result in blocks to course registration at your A&R session.
On the day of your session, park in the Student Parking lot at the Truax campus. No parking pass/permit is required on A&R dates only. Visit the Parking and Parking Permits web page for directions and maps.
Please be punctual for your session. If you are late, you may be asked to reschedule your session.
