Baking Career

Are you creative? Do you like to be active at work? Do you like to multitask? Want to be your own boss someday? A baking career may be just right for you!

 Madison College is the place to learn how to produce beautifully decorated cakes, artisan breads, decadent chocolates, and artistic sugar showpieces. This program provides comprehensive, hands-on practice, as well as the theoretical knowledge necessary to create quality bakery products from scratch.

  • A new 21-week semester, offered twice a year
  • Monday-Friday 7:30am-1:30pm
  • Currently accepting full-time students only
  • Inclusive curriculum; cookies, bars, tarts, croissant, hearth breads and much more!
  • Intensive lab environment similar to a production bakery
  • Onsite bakery store to learn effective merchandising, customer service, and bakery operations
  • Includes bakery field trips and seminars presented by national baking professionals

 After successfully completing the program, and with a year’s experience in the baking industry, you can test for the national Journey Baker Certification, awarded by the Retail Bakers of America. 

 This is the first step towards a rewarding and creative career in the baking field!
