Network Accounts

Your Madison Area Technical College network username is used for Blackboard, student email, myMadisonCollege, Home Directory, Print Smart, and off-campus access to library resources.

How do I activate/reactivate my account?

  1. Go to myMadisonCollege and click on the New Student Set Up Access Now link.
  2. Enter your student ID number/Onecard number OR your Social Security number.
  3. Enter your birthdate.
  4. You'll be prompted to choose a challenge question (secret question) and type in the answer to the question, and to choose your password.
  5. Remember to keep your username and password secure to protect your personal information.

What is my username?

You can have a fellow student, faculty or staff person check your username in our college college global directory.

  • If you have an e-mail address listed, then your account has already been activated. Your username is the first part of your email address. For example, a student with the email address of has the username jsmith2.
  • If there is no e-mail address listed for you, activate your account- Go to myMadisonCollege Account Activation

OR you may go through the 7-step account activation/reactivation process, which will give you your username and email address.

What is my password? I forgot my password? How do I reset my password?

If you have forgotten your network acount password, you can reset it:

Use this Reset your fogotten password link Or from myMadisonCollege follow the Change or reset your password links.

  • Enter your username. For information on how to find your username, see above.
  • When prompted, simply enter your 7-digit student number (OneCard number). What is my Student ID number?  
  • Enter your secret answer to the challenge question you have set previously. You probably set this when you activated your account. You will need to answer your challenge question (secret question) accurately in order to reset your password.
  • Then enter the new password of your choosing. Remember to keep your username and new password secure to protect your personal information.

OR you may go through the 7-step account activation/reactivation process and you'll be able to choose a new password.

How do I change my password?

Passwords should always be changed if you suspect someone else knows yours, but it’s also a good idea to change your password periodically to protect your personal information.

The password change process lets you pick a new password without having to go through the password reset process. Simply enter your user ID and current password, and then enter the new password of your choosing.   

How do I change my secret challenge question?

You can choose a challenge question and your secret answer. Or you can pick a new challenge question or answer if you don’t like your old one. Once this is set, you can use the self-service password reset process.

What if my name has legally changed or is misspelled?

1: If your name has legally changed or is misspelled, contact the Enrollment Center at (608) 246-6210. Name Change Information.

2: After you have had this information corrected through the Enrollment Center process, contact the Technology Services help desk (608) 246-6666 to request that your username and student email address be updated.
