Comprehensive Quality Review (CQR)

The final component in the process of the reaffirmation of accreditation is the Comprehensive Quality Review (formerly known as a Quality Check-up) site visit by a team of peer reviewers selected by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). In advance of the site visit, the peer review team reviews the College’s two Systems Portfolio Reviews, its Action Projects, its Federal Compliance Report, its Highlight Report, and other relevant materials to assess whether the College is meeting the criteria for re-affirmation of accreditation. These reports can be found on the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) web page. Additionally, on behalf of the HLC, the College administers a survey instrument to students and requests public comment on the work of the College. HLC directly receives the data from the student survey and the comments of the public and provides that information directly to the peer review team. As the College has multiple campuses, the 2016 peer review team has selected to visit the Truax, Commercial Avenue, Portage, and Reedsburg campuses.

The peer review team will document the College’s compliance with the Criteria for Accreditation and federal requirements. The peer review team will also comment upon advances in continuous improvement at the College and offer a recommendation related to the continuation of the College’s accreditation. The Institutional Actions Council, a decision-making body of the HLC, acts upon the recommendation of the peer review team regarding re-affirmation of accreditation.
