FATE Basics

As a student at Madison College, it is important that you know a few things about paying for your education. FATE Basics will guide you through these fundamental concepts that include:

  • How much does your program cost?
  • How will you finance your schooling and what types of funding are you eligible for?
  • How much should you expect to make in your post-graduation career?
  • How much should you borrow to pay for your education? 

Before you get started, you'll need to sign up for a USA Funds Life Skills Account.

Check out the following modules and tools to get started on your FATE path. As will all FATE program modules, you will need to achieve a score of 70% or higher to "pass" and be given credit for completion.

Life Skills 101 Lessons include:

    • Factors to consider when paying for college
    • Different types of funding available, including need-based and non-need-based scholarships
    • How to apply for financial aid

Life Skills 202 Lessons include: 

    • How to choose your program of study
    • How your program (and it's timing) affect the cost of your schooling

For Veterans - FATE 102 Lessons include:

    • How to apply for Veteran's benefits
    • Funding available for Veterans
    • How to maintain your eligibility
