Group Fitness Classes

Click here to view the times and dates for the Spring 2015 group fitness classes offered through Madison College Fitness, Health & Recreation.  All yoga classes will be held in room 131 in the Health Education Building.

Registration for classes can be done online by clicking the links below or at the Truax and Downtown campuses by going to the fitness center service desk.

Yoga:

 A physical practice that involves flow or moving with the breath series along with the holding of poses for balance and strength. The practice also includes learning breathing techniques and techniques for controlling thoughts and focus. Aspects of therapeutic yoga are also included. 55-minute class. All yoga classes will be held in room 131 in the Health Education Building.

Yoga - Spring 2015 - Session II - T/R @ 11:30am (60 minute)

Aqua Fitness: 50-minute water workout incorporating aerobic & strength moves performed in shallow and optional deep areas

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30.  Must purchase a membership or day pass to participate in the class.


Couch to 5k:

This training program aims to prepare you slowly to run a 5K race. It’s a gentle introduction to getting the body moving, starting off alternating between walking and running small distances, and slowly building up until after 9 weeks, you’re ready to run 5 kilometers. We will meet as a group once a week: two other trainings will need to complete on your own during the week. Program will include general running basics, strength training and stretching information. At the end, we will run the Madison College spring race in April.

We will meet in Room A101Q at the Truax Building on Fridays at 11:30am, from February 13 - April 10.
