Beginning in the Summer 2013, Madison College students who wish to take an online or accelerated course or program for the first time must complete the Orientation to Online & Accelerated Learning. The goal of the orientation is to assist students in making wise decisions regarding the format of courses that will work best for their learning styles and life situations.
Step 1: If you have not done so already, create your MyMadisonCollege Student Account.
Step 2: Using your MyMadisonCollege username and password, login to Blackboard.
Step 3: Once in Blackboard, you will find the Course Catalog on the right side. Click on the "Smarter Measures Assessment" folder.
Step 4: You will now see the Orientation course, Course ID "other_SmarterMeasure_mjblack1". Hover your mouse over the link to the course until you see a dropdown arrow.
Step 5: Click the single chevron (dropdown arrow) which appears at the end of the course name, and choose "Enroll". Note: Clicking on the hyperlink/Course ID will not work.
Step 6: On the Self-Enrollment screen, click "Submit" to complete the self-enrollment.
Step 7: Once directed to the Self-Enrollment Confirmation screen, click "OK" to enter the course.
Step 8: You will be taken to the "Start Here" page. Read this information, including the important information in the "Check your browser before you start the course information, then proceed and complete Tasks 1-4.
**Please note: Firefox is the best browser to use in order to access and complete the Online Orientation, whether you a using a PC or a Mac.
***IMPORTANT: You cannot self-enroll or access the Orientation using an iPad, tablet or smartphone.
