Madison College students, staff and faculty are invited to attend a panel discussion on Haiti to be held on Friday, Jan. 29, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Truax Student Lounge, Room 142C.
Panelists will include:
- Dr. Brenda Plummer, Afro-Caribbean historian, UW-Madison
Historical context of Haiti, Haitian underdevelopment and U.S. relations
- Eyleen Chou, president, Engineers Without Borders, UW-Madison Chapter
Discussion of EWB work in Haiti since 2002 and reports from students in the country during the quake
- Tom Mooney, chief executive officer, American Red Cross Badger Chapter
Overview of Red Cross activity and how funds donated are being used
