What is Accelerated Learning?

Accelerated programs use accepted adult learning methods of instruction that allows for a reduction of in-class hours by 50 percent. Students complete the remaining percent by completing outside class activities such as reading, written papers, case studies and projects.

What’s New with Accelerated Learning at Madison College?

Accelerated Programs are those whose classes are offered entirely in an Accelerated format. Madison Area Technical College currently defines accelerated courses as those designed for working adults. Courses are offered in the evenings, once a week for 4

hours for a duration of 6 weeks.

Current Programs:

Supervisory Management

For more information on these programs contact Cindy Spankowski for Supervisory Management or Holly Mercier  for Marketing.

Business Management

Teaching helping a student

The main purpose of Accelerated courses is to support the Accelerated Programs. But, adult students whose programs are not currently offered in an Accelerated format can also take advantage of Accelerated Courses.

If you’re interested in developing a course in an accelerated format contact Tina Rettler-Pagel or Shawna Carter.

Accelerated teaching methods are used to engage learners and help them retain more information in less time. These methods can be used in ANY class! For more information on Accelerated teaching methods contact Trey Mireles.
