What is a Course Portfolio?

Course Portfolios are individual Blackboard sites owned by each occupational program or Arts & Science Department. Each Course Portfolio Blackboard site will include a folder for each course in the program or department.

Each course folder should contain at a minimum four items:

  • Outline of Instruction
  • Sample Course Syllabus
  • Course Coordinator Contact Information
  • Course Resources

All resources available on the Course Portfolio site can be downloaded and used by any instructor teaching the course.

Why are Course Portfolios useful to Instructors?

Course portfolios create an electronic place accessible to all program or department faculty an opportunity to share information such items as: best practices for a course, assignments, activities, websites, syllabi, and assessments. It will also serve as a resource for contact information for other instructors teaching the same courses.
