Military Service Members Priority Registration

Beginning summer 2014, in compliance with Wisconsin Assembly Bill 201, active-duty military service members and veterans may request assignment of priority registration/enrollment dates within their designated registration group. For registration group designations, visit the Student Status web page. 

  • The priority registration/enrollment date applies only to the service member.
  • Service members do not have to be using veterans benefits to qualify.
  • Veterans utilizing veterans benefits also will follow the process outlined below.
  • Once service members are deemed eligible, they will always be eligible at Madison College.

To make a request:

Complete and submit the Military Service Priority Registration Request Form (PDF, 784KB) along with one of the following documents*:

  • DD214/DD215
  • NGB22/22A - National Guard report of separation and record of service
  • Reserve Credit Report and "Discharge Order & Point Summary"
  • Commander's Letter
  • Current Orders
  • Letter from County Veteran Service Officer

*Original documentation is preferred; however, photocopies will be accepted. If applicable, documentation must verify a discharge was Honorable or General under Honorable Conditions.
