Pearson VUE: Acceptable Forms of Identification

Pearson VUE: Acceptable Forms of Identification

Identification requirements vary by exam sponsor.  When you register for your test, you will receive an e-mail/letter from Pearson VUE explaining ID requirements.  Read this letter carefully.  You must meet the identification requirements in order to test.  You will not be allowed to test if you do not meet the exam sponsor's identification requirements.

Candidates often must present two forms of personal identification.  The primary ID must include both a permanent picture and a signature and must not be expired.  The secondary ID must include a signature and must not be expired.  Common acceptable forms of identification as recognized by Pearson VUE include:

Primary Identification:

  • Driver's License, Learner's Permit, or State ID Card
  • Passport
  • Military ID
  • Employee ID, School ID, or Credit Card (only if it contains both a photo and signature and is not expired)

Secondary Identification:

  • Social Security Card
  • Debit/ATM card
  • Credit Cards
  • A second form of ID from the Primary list

Again, Pearson VUE prohibits us from allowing you to test if you do not meet the sponsor's identification requirements.
