The Meeting and Event Management Program is designed to prepare students for highly responsible positions in the convention, conference and meeting planning industry. Students develop negotiation, decision-making, problem-solving and communication skills as well as learn about contract law, facilities, financial management and related areas of convention, conference and meeting management.
Major responsibilities of those employed in the meeting and event management industry include: On-site Management, Marketing, Client and Vendor Relations, Contracts and Risk Management, Program Development, Budgeting, and Coordination of Logistics.
Graduates may be employed by professional associations, corporations, conference centers, hotels, resorts and special event venues.
This program is endorsed by Meeting Professionals International - Wisconsin Chapter, a community of the world's largest professional organization for meeting professionals.
