Summer 2014 financial aid eligibility is based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2013-2014 academic year. To receive aid for the summer semester, you must have your 2013-2014 FAFSA completed by June 6, 2014. You may request summer financial aid if you are:
Step 1: Register for Summer Courses
You must be registered for summer courses prior to requesting financial aid. Summer registration begins in March and your individual enrollment date is available in your myMadisonCollege Student Center.
Most types of aid require at least 6 eligible degree credits. You must be registered by the Date of Record for the summer semester for courses to be considered for aid.
Step 2: Submit a Request Form
Complete, sign and submit the Summer Financial Aid Request Form (PDF, 785 KB) to the Financial Aid Office for review.
Step 3: View and Accept Your Award Offer
Beginning mid-May, award notices will be sent to your student email and can be viewed in your myMadisonCollege Student Center. Please allow three weeks for processing for documents submitted after mid-May.
If you are offered student loans you must accept/decline them in your myMadisonCollege Student Center. See the Financial Aid Award Acceptance tutorial for instructions. Please note: if you received the maximum amount of funding during the fall and spring semesters, you may not have eligibility remaining for the summer.
If you are not eligible for summer aid, are not satisfied with your award and/or decide that you are unable to attend the summer semester, you must drop your class(es) prior to the start date to receive a full refund. Otherwise, you will be billed according to the WTCS Refund Policy.
Be sure to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). SAP is calculated separately for summer.
