Turning Point encourages displaced homemakers to achieve their educational and personal goals by providing personalized support through educational services and employment resources.
Our goal is to make a difference in our participants’ lives empowering them through education, career advising, counseling services and by enhancing their computer skills, job searching strategies, workshops and individual support to generate strong independent individuals.
Are you a female or male who has worked in the home for a substantial number of years providing unpaid household services for family members and who meets the following criteria?
Not gainfully employed
Unemployed or underemployed
Having difficulty in securing employment
And Have you been dependent on the income of another household member but are no longer supported by such income
or Have been dependent on public assistance but are no longer eligible for such assistance or may be terminated from such assistance
or Are the parent of a minor child (ren) supported by public assistance or spousal support but whose child (ren) are within two years of reaching their maturity
Through Madison College's Turning Point program, displaced homemakers, you will obtain:
Individual support
Computer literacy training
Instructional workshops designed to improve employability skills
Exploration in employment options
