Madison College to offer free online Fundamentals of Well-Being course
During these challenging and uncertain times, life can feel out of control. But, there are ways you can bring focus, clarity and intention to how you view yourself, your relationships and the world around you.
Beginning April 20, Madison College is offering select content from its “Building Blocks of Well-Being” certificate as a free, six-week online offering to the greater Madison community. The Fundamentals of Well-Being micro-course will help folks develop a deeper understanding of choice, empathy, gratitude, positivity, emotional intelligence and mindfulness. They’ll also find ways to deal with stress, explore living in the present and learn how to manage their emotions.
“With so many people feeling anxiety, deep levels of stress and uncertainty about the future, we want to help our community deal with these emotions and adapt their mindset for the coming recovery,” says
Small Business Entrepreneurship Program Director Jill Huizenga. “Offering course content from our Building Blocks of Well-Being certificate is a perfect way to do this at no cost to participants.”
The certificate is comprised of training from three Madison College courses: Mindset for Success, Studies in Gratitude, Optimism and Well-Being (GrOW) and Leading Your Life with Emotional Intelligence. Anyone who successfully completes the course will receive a Fundamentals of Well-Being Micro-Badge through Madison College’s Digital Credentials Institute. Learn more about Digital Badges here.
Registration for the well-being course is on a first-come, first-served basis. So far, three sessions (50 seats each) have been sold out. The college is adding two additional sessions. To reserve your seat, register at Fundamentals of Well-Being.
