Madison College utilizes the proctored, online ATI TEAS assessment to place students into various health care programs. TEAS is not used for Associate Degree - Nursing.

Please refer to your Degree Progress Report to determine if you have already met the testing requirement for your program.

  • Overview

    The maximum amount of time allotted for the ATI TEAS is 209 minutes (about 3.5 hours). Students are encouraged to take a break between the Math and Science portions.

    • Reading (53 questions, 64 minutes): Paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension and informational source comprehension.
    • Math (36 questions, 54 minutes): Numbers and operations, algebraic applications, data interpretation and measurement.
    • Science (53 questions, 63 minutes): Human body science; life science, earth and physical science and scientific reasoning.
    • English and Language Usage (28 questions, 28 minutes): Grammar and word meanings in context, sentence structure, punctuation and spelling. 

    Testing can be done on our Madison campus or remotely from your home.

    There are no refunds and no cancelations.

  • Prepare

    We encourage you to prepare for the test before registering. You can use ATI resources or consider purchasing ATI TEAS preparation products. All products can be purchased individually or in packages.

    It is helpful to view the ATI Remote Proctoring orientation video before you register and pay for the ATI TEAS.

    Check your program admission requirements to ensure the ATI TEAS is completed prior to any program deadlines.

  • Register

    General Registration Info

    • Registration must be completed at least 24 hours before the test date.
    • From the registration page, click Register Now and select in-person or remote option. 
    • Choose the Allied Health option for whichever test mode you choose.
    • Follow the remaining prompts to create your account.
    • To ensure your test results are received by Madison College, please include your seven-digit student ID number and date of birth.
    • Pay the test fee online with a debit or credit card at least twenty-four hours prior to your test.
    • Plan four hours to take the test.
    • All testing policies found here apply to this test. 

    Remote Testing Info:

    • Bring your ATI username and password. You must log into your account to take the test. 
    • ATI TEAS has partnered with Proctorio to monitor your remote assessment.
    • You will need to complete some additional steps to be sure your computer is ready to deliver your test.
    • A calculator is provided within the testing software.

    In-person testing Info:

    • Bring your ATI username and password. You must log into your account to take the test. 
    • A calculator is provided within the testing software.

    Accommodated Testing Info:

    If you have a disability and require testing accommodations, complete the accommodated TEAS reservation form.

    When using accommodations, the actual test date and time will be different from what you selected on the ATI TEAS website - that is all right. This allows us to provide you the time and environment you need to successfully complete the exam.

  • Results

    If you have taken the ATI TEAS at Madison College, scores will automatically download into your student account about a week after testing. To view your results sooner:

    • Log into the ATI website, choose My Results to view your test scores.
    • Look for the adjusted individual total score. This is your composite score. Your adjusted individual score for each category will be indicated below. You will see your score in an orange circle before you log out of your test.
    • You must score 58.7% or higher to be eligible to petition for your program.  

    Refer to your program admission requirements to determine if your results meet program benchmarks. 

    If you have taken the ATI TEAS at a location other than Madison College, you must submit an official transcript from ATI to our Testing Center. 

    You may retake the ATI TEAS. There is no limit to how many retests you can take, though, you will be charged the test fee for each retest. The suggested remediation period is 2 weeks to 30 days.
