Advising and Transfer Events

Advising and transfer events are for all Madison College students and include registration labs, college visits, pre-transfer advising and the transfer fair.

Newly admitted students will be invited to an Advising and Registration Session to register for their first semester of coursework.

At Madison College your advisor will work with you as you plan to complete your degree. If transferring is in your future, consider the following events:

  • Group Advising Events: An opportunity to meet with an advisor and plan for your next semester. Self-guided registration assistance is also available online.

  • Pre-Transfer Advising: Your chance to learn more about transfer admission and requirements at schools like UW Madison, Edgewood College and UW Milwaukee. You can also speak with advisors representing specific academic majors and degree programs. To sign up for an appointment, go to the liberal arts section (transfer) below.

  • College Visits: Check the MATC calendar to determine when the school(s) you're interested in will be on campus, research information they have on their website, explore transfer opportunities and create a list of questions.

  • Transfer Fair: Attend the annual Transfer Fair to talk to more than 30 admission representatives from four-year institutions.

  • Transfer Students

    Pre-Transfer Advising

Pre-transfer advising sessions are by appointment only, so reserve your time as soon as registration becomes available. Sessions for popular majors fill up fast, so act quickly to secure your spot. Check the Madison College calendar for dates, times, and locations.

Prepare for your appointment with the transfer advisor. Write out your list of questions, bring a copy of your degree progress report (advisement report) and transcripts from any other colleges you've attended as well as your AP test scores if appropriate.

  • Health Students

    Walk-in Advising

Meet with a health advisor in room 101 in the Health Building. Look for the sign labeled “Health Advising”.

Walk-in advising sessions are intended for current program students with quick advising questions related to petitioning, degree progress, and registration.  New students should attend an Academic Information Session for Health students.
