Madison College degree or credential seeking students who were impacted by COVID-19, due to a disruption of campus operations, now have access to funding from the Federal government through the CARES Act. The college received $2,750,035 to support students who are eligible for Title IV aid. The emergency assistance is 100% funded by the U.S. Department of Education; no private funding is used for the Madison College CARES federal fund.
Starting with the summer 2020 term, Madison College awarded technology grants to students to support virtual or online learning technology needs. To identify the neediest students, as required in Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund guidelines, the Student Financial Support Services uses the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) for selection purposes. The selection process starts with students with the lowest EFC.
In addition, and until funds are exhausted, Madison College will assist students with food needs. This is another category under the HEERF allowance to support students.
