Madison College observes Constitution Day each year on or around September 17. The federal holiday recognizes the adoption of the U.S. Constitution and celebrates citizenship. This annual event is coordinated through Student Life.
Truax Campus: The Center for Student Life hosted Hot Topics + Hot Lunch, an event featuring an interactive discussion on the history and relevance of the U.S. Constitution. The discussion was led by Dr. Maurice Sheppard, political science instructor. Participating students received copies of the Constitution and voter registration information.
Goodman South Campus: The Goodman South Campus celebrated Constitution Day by handing out pocket-sized constitutions to students as they walked to and from class. Students also played Constitution Kahoot and Constitution Bingo. The winners of both these activities received prizes from the Madison College Bookstore.
Watertown Campus: Staff distributed copies of the Constitution to students and hosted a Constitution Quiz Bowl.
Voter registration information is available through the Student Life office or the State of Wisconsin Elections Commission. Registration materials are also distributed throughout an election season at campus events, election tabling and debate broadcasts.
