Involvement in the arts is a great way to motivate student learning, boost academic achievement and improve school culture. Madison College's art galleries play an important role in promoting student involvement in the arts. They also serve as a bridge between MATC and the community. We invite you to participate in all of our programming and events.
Gallery 211 is centrally located at the downtown campus and operated by the College Transfer Art Department. The 825-square-foot space presents opportunities for active learning in an inspiring and intellectually stimulating environment. Gallery 211 also engages the campus community as a lounge space. Large, comfortable chairs and tables accommodate students who wish to study or relax while surrounded by works of art. Daily events, such as an art film series, further enhance student learning.
The Gallery at Truax, operated by the School of Business and Applied Arts and the Graphic Design Department, is an art and exhibition space showcasing fine art, faculty and student work, and community exhibitions. Past shows have featured modern quilts, animation, photography, graphic design, visual communications, architecture, screen printing, letterpress, biotechnology and electron microscopy, and displays from Wisconsin manufacturing companies.
