Political Science instructor discusses importance of political conventions

The Democratic and Republican national conventions are now history. Voters will head to the polls on November 3 to cast their ballots.

Madison College Political Science instructor Maurice Sheppard recently told Channel 3 (WISC-TV) and Channel 27 (WKOW-TV) it's important that presumptive presidential nominee Joe Biden and the Democratic Party make clear what they stand for and how their platform differs from the Republican Party.

Meanwhile, during a separate interview, Sheppard told Channel 3 that he expected the tone of the Republican National Convention to be positive and that President Trump will stick to his same game plan.

Sheppard says the national conventions can solidify a party's base and also open the door to undecided voters.
