Overview

The IT-Software Quality Specialist program will prepare you to verify and validate the quality of software and other operational platforms in an organization. You will develop the skills to:
 

  • write secure and testable scripts
  • plan, manage, and implement different types of testing methods
  • develop and perform manual and automated tests to verify quality of deployed systems
  • communicate testing analysis and results effectively

The courses are presented using a hands-on approach. Students will explore the objects and concepts related to testing methodologies, relate system requirements and use cases to testing requirements, analyze software systems for test coverage, write software, utilize industry-standard tools for assessing quality, and design and develop automated testing tools.

 

Students will gain an understanding of how quality relates to software development and the related costs and benefits of properly tested systems. You will understand the impact that quality assurance has on technology in today’s world of accelerated change. Career opportunities for skilled quality specialists exist in all areas of the country and are in high demand.
