Retention Initiatives and Student Engagement
Retention initiatives provide a proactive approach to student engagement, support, and academic success. You will be connected with someone who will assist you if you have difficulties in one or more courses.
To ensure that you are equipped with the appropriate resources, guidance, and support, Madison College has designated student engagement programs.
TRIO STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
TRiO serves first generation, income-eligible and students with disabilities through tutoring, advising, financial aid assistance, enrichment workshops, and a welcoming community.
VETERAN RESOURCES SERVICES
Veteran Resource Services serves military connected students by providing campus resources and creating community partnerships. The program's goal is to promote academic, career, employment and personal successes.
SCHOLARS OF COLOR MENTORING PROGRAM
Student scholars of color are paired with a Madison College staff or faculty mentor. This mentoring relationship helps scholars to flourish within their academic, personal and leadership abilities.
TOPS COLLEGE SUCCESS PROGRAM
TOPS College Success supports former high School AVID students through tutoring, advising, workshops, and a welcoming community.
FIRST GENERATION STUDENT INITIATIVES
Madison College is a first-generation friendly institution where all students thrive. The college offers a variety of events and a student organization for first-generation students.
The Early Alert system allows faculty and advisors to work together intervene with students who have shown signs of academic difficulty. The interventions are intended to assist students with improving classroom performance.
