Steps to Complete GED/HSED at a Regional Campus

Due to COVID-19 restrictions all GED/HSED classes in regional campus locations will be offered online only. 

Complete the following steps in order to obtain your GED or HSED.

You can complete the steps at one of the following campuses:

  1. Attend a Welcome Session

    Call the regional campus you plan on attending and sign up here to attend the required 1-2 hour welcome session.

    At the Welcome Session you will:

  2. Complete TABE Assessment

    You must complete the TABE reading test. Please allow for up to three hours for the test. You will be given information at the welcome session on how to complete the TABE assessment.

  3. Attend GED/HSED Intro Class

    Attend the two hour class. This course introduces you to the high school completion options in Wisconsin. During this class you will:

    • Review GED/HSED Options in Wisconsin
    • Complete Career Assessment
    • Complete an Academic Plan
    • Register for Courses (if needed)
    • Meet with your assigned Advisor
    • Receive information about the Student One Card
  4. Complete Employability Skills Requirement

    You have two options to complete your employability skills requirement:

    1. Complete Employability Skills 3 Curriculum at Madison College
    2. Provide High School Transcript with completed employability skills course (dated within last five years)
  5. Attend Testing Orientation

    Your next step is to complete the GED/HSED Testing Orientation. Please confirm this date with your staff/instructor at your regional campus.

    • Bring your ID and proof of Wisconsin Residency
    • Review Testing Center Rules and Regulations (found on bottom of webpage)
    • Get approval for Official Exams
    • Receive Free Civics Voucher
