Madison College-Reedsburg Celebrate A Nurse 5K raised funds for nursing student's education

Nurses make a difference, touching our lives with expert care and unwavering compassion. Madison College-Reedsburg, recognized for its top-notch for is nursing training, hosted the annual Celebrate A Nurse 5K run/walk on Saturday, May 4 to support men and women who choose the profession. 

Proceeds from the event helped fund student’s nursing training at the Madison College Reedsburg campus. The event kicks off National Nurses Week, May 6-12 

Celebrate A Nurse included a timed 5K with prizes for the fastest in their age group, and also a 1-mile fun run. Individuals and groups are encouraged to sign up. Participants received a commemorative T-shirt, post-race treats, and had a chance to meet mascot Wolfie!

Community members helped support the Madison College-Reedsburg Celebrate A Nurse 5K run/walk in 2023. This year's event is Saturday, May 4 at the Reedsburg campus.

The popular event attracted hundreds including Madison College Reedsburg nursing students, alumni, and community members. The race debuted in 2022 with support from nursing students, faculty, and community members to boost the Reedsburg nursing program.

Last year enough money was raised to help ten students fund their nursing education.

“We thank everyone for supporting our Reedsburg nursing students and honoring and celebrating the hard work, compassion, and dedication of nurses who make a profound impact on the lives of so many,” says Shawna Marquardt, Madison College Dean of Regional Campuses.
