On this page, we’ll go over class delivery methods, the ways you can take a class, and guides on how each type of student can register for their classes.
Class Delivery Methods
Choose from the following instruction modes.
In-person
Traditional classes are taught entirely on campus.

- Required, Scheduled Online Meetings - No
- Instructor Location - On Campus
Online
No in-person or virtually scheduled meetings, but assignments have due dates.
- Required, Scheduled On-Campus Meetings – No

- Instructor Location – Off-Campus
Hybrid
A balance of classroom time and online learning.
- Required, Scheduled On-Campus Meetings - Yes, a limited number.
- Required, Scheduled Online Meetings - Varies by class.
- Instructor Location – On-Campus and Off-Campus.
Online Live
Live real-time teaching you can join from any location.
- Required, Scheduled On-Campus Meetings – No.
- Required, Scheduled Online Meetings – Yes.
- Instructor Location – Off-Campus.
Classroom Live
Classes happen in-person and online at the same time.
- Required, Scheduled On-Campus Meetings – Yes.
- Required, Scheduled Online Meetings – Yes.
- Instructor Location – On-Campus.
- Students may choose to attend on-campus or online at the scheduled time.

Credit Types
Choose the appropriate credit type to meet your educational goals.
Credit Classes
Credit classes are degree-credit classes that are reflected on your college transcript. Credit classes are counted towards your GPA and a degree or credential. They may also be eligible to transfer to another college.
Noncredit Classes
Noncredit classes are for personal development and are not considered credit classes.
*Students can order two different types of transcripts. One that includes degree only and one that includes both degree and continuing education courses.
Class Audits
Students interested in enrolling in a degree-credit class for strictly learning purposes, and not with the intention to earn a letter grade, can do so by enrolling in a Class Audit.
Create a Student Account
Your student account gives you access to class registration, your student portal (myMadisonCollege) and more. Learn how to create or activate your Madison College student account.
