Madison College set to celebrate grads at May 10 Commencement

Madison College’s May 10 Spring Commencement will celebrate a new class of skilled graduates set to bring their talents and industry expertise to the workforce. 

Hundreds of students will also take their Madison College associate degree bound for four-year colleges and universities.

Wherever Madison College grads end up, it will be a memorable transition for 1,798 students. And, with over 75% of graduates staying in the district, it will also be impactful for local employers' needs and the community.

Madison College Spring 2024 Commencement Ceremony will start at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10 at the Alliant Energy Center Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The event will also be livestreamed.

Madison College President Jack E. Daniels will preside over the ceremony and deliver an address highlighting the resilience and mastery of skill in this spring’s graduating class.

"I marvel at many of you who have mastered a new skill in the trades or technical aspects of your chosen profession – firefighter, nurse, auto technician, diesel technician, construction worker, apprentice, digital marketer, veterinarian technician, biotech lab technician, paramedic or any one of the 77 diplomas or degrees we have in trades or technical programs,” Daniels says. “And for those transferring to a four-year institution, the foundation you have received at Madison College will only add to your future educational successes.  I wish for you all of you, today and in the future, a happy, prosperous and fulfilling career."    

The May 10 Commencement is but one celebration amidst a month that encompasses ceremonies for Black, Latinx, and Native American graduates. Law Enforcement Academy graduation, nursing pinning ceremonies, Gateway to College, and high school completion ceremonies round out a month of recognition for Madison College students.
