Community donors award $20,000 in scholarships to Madison College Watertown students
Madison College’s Watertown campus recently celebrated the power of community and student achievement at its annual Watertown Scholarship Awards Reception this month.
The event recognized students who collectively received $20,000 in scholarships funded by local businesses, service organizations and memorial donors.
For many students, like Jazzlyn Villarreal, the scholarship wasn't just much-needed financial support but a vote of confidence.
“Knowing that others believe in my goals has motivated me to work harder and remain committed to my academic and career aspirations,” Villarreal says. “I am sincerely thankful for this opportunity and the positive impact it has had on my journey.”
Students from a variety of programs, including nursing and business, received scholarships, highlighting the range of career pathways supported through community giving.
“These scholarships represent the power of community investment in our students’ future,” said Bryan Woodhouse, Madison College Foundation Chief Executive Officer. “We are grateful to our donors for helping remove financial barriers and empowering students to succeed.”
