Madison College Career Discovery Youth Camps

Madison College's Career Discovery youth camps offer fun, interactive educational experiences for children in grades 5-12. Our camps are designed to enhance your child's knowledge and personal growth with exciting hands-on classes, labs and experiences customized for youth.

  • 3-day camps run Tuesday – Thursday
  • 5-day camps run Monday – Friday
  • Enrollment based on current grade level
  • Breakfast and lunch provided
  • Some camps have on-site field trips
  • $59/student per session, unless otherwise noted
  • Scholarships may be available for students eligible for free/reduced lunch

Baking Fun! | Grades 6-10

Learn how to make delicious baked items from scratch. You will learn how to take base recipes and change them into many different varieties. You’ll bake in the state-of-the-art Baking Lab at the Truax campus to create your own tasty treats! Explore careers in the baking industry, such as baker, cake decorator and more.

Engineering in a Box | Grades 5-9

Explore how the digital worlds of mechanical and electrical engineering collide to produce many of the products we see today. In this camp you will build your own machine while learning design, programming, and electrical skills. 3D print your device and customize it with laser engraving. No experience needed, but imagination is encouraged.

NitroX Camp | Grades 5-8

Build, test, and drive remote controlled vehicles! Learn new technical, mechanical, and electrical skills. Explore careers in the transportation industry. Sponsored by the Wisconsin Auto and Truck Dealer’s Association.

Career Discovery Camper

Beginning Welding | Grades 7-11

(Registration ended – camp is full)

Campers will learn the basics of welding and metal fabrication while creating your own projects to take home.

Emergency Services Exploration | Grades 8-11

July 19-21, 9 am – 4 pm
July 26-28, 9 am – 4 pm

Explore emergency services including CPR, trauma & medical emergencies, and first responder wellness.

Biotechnology | Grades 7-9

Explore the world of cells, DNA, genes, microbes and learn how medicines are developed and tested. Dive into Biotech though hands-on experiences that pave the way for STEM careers in bioenergy production, agricultural biosciences, biomedical and molecular biology research, development and industry.

Advance Welding | Grades 7-11

August 8-12, 9 am – 4 pm

Campers will learn more advanced welding and fabricating techniques.

Camp Triple C - CAD/CAM/CNC | Grades 5-11

This camp will Introduce student to basic manufacturing processes and to CAD/CAM/CNC Manufacturing processes.

Science Camp | Ages 12-14

June 22, 9 am – 3 pm

Explore Madison College Science classes!

  • Chemistry – Participate in safe, hands-on laboratory activities designed to explore how chemistry is related to the world around us.
  • Anatomy and Physiology – Explore the anatomical structures and physiological functions of the heart and brain.  Students will dissect sheep brains and pig hearts to investigate the internal anatomy of each organ.  They will carry out pinning exercises to master the major structures of both organs and learn about general functions of the lobes of the brain and the chambers of the heart.
  • Microbiology – Learn about microbes and participate in hands on activities with safe bacterial species. They will stain and observe bacteria using a microscope, identify characteristics of bacteria, transfer bacteria from broth to agar plates, and do an experiment to understand the effectiveness of antibiotics.

Nursing Camp | Ages 12-14 ($20/student)

July 14, 9 am - 3 pm

Designed for students ages 12-14, our 1-day summer camp provides hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art nursing lab. Participants will work directly with our instructors for a fun and educational introduction to nursing, including a real-life simulated emergency. A camp t-shirt will also be provided.

Aviation Days | Grades 7-12 ($25/student)

June 27-26, 10 am – 2 pm

Students will gain a deeper understanding of the field of aviation through a wide range of fun activities.

Nursing Day | Grades 6-8 (no cost)

July 6, 8 am – 3 pm

Students will practice hands-on nursing skills in Madison College’s state of the art simulation labs.
