Madison College statement on the passing of Jerome “Jerry” Frautschi from Madison College President Dr. Jennifer Berne:
“We mourn the passing of Jerry Frautschi with great sadness. Madison College is deeply grateful for the generosity he extended to our students and the Madison community.
Jerry understood that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Through the Frautschi Family Pathway Scholarship Fund, he removed financial barriers that too often stand between students and their dreams, helping them stay enrolled, persist through challenges, and complete their education. His support of Madison College students was grounded in a deep respect for students and belief in their potential.
Jerry truly believed in Madison College’s mission to be an invaluable asset to our community. We will continue to honor Jerry’s legacy and his belief that the pursuit of higher education leads to a fulfilling life.
On behalf of Madison College, we extend our deepest condolences to Jerry Frautschi’s family and our gratitude for the positive impact he has had on our students, college and the greater community.”
In November 2025, W. Jerome “Jerry” Frautschi committed an additional $4.5 million to the Frautschi Family Pathway Scholarship Fund, bringing his total investment in Madison College students to $5.5 million. This gift was the largest non-capital contribution in Madison College Foundation history, expanding need-based scholarships for students across all programs of study.
