Madison College Performing Arts' season of haunting tales, drama and laughs

Madison College Performing Arts’ 2025–26 season features an exciting mix of student-led productions, thought-provoking dramas, laugh-out-loud comedies and an award-winning musical.
Oct. 23-Nov. 1 “(Sc)Are We Delicious” in the Studio Theater
The season opens with (Sc)Are We Delicious?, a unique, Halloween-themed theatrical experience created and performed by Madison College students in collaboration with the local theater troupe Are We Delicious? Under the direction of Madison performer Stacey Garbarski, this original production features entertaining vignettes brought to life with creative staging, minimal props, foley-style sound effects.
Feb. 20-28 Midwestern Goodbyes, Studio Theatre
The world premiere of “Midwestern Goodbyes” introduces us to Sloane, a young woman who is present at her own funeral. This heartwarming comedy pokes gentle fun at Wisconsin traditions and highlights a complex mother-child relationship. Faculty member Karen Saari will direct “Midwestern Goodbyes” by Charly Sparks, an alumna who penned and developed the play under Saari’s mentorship as part of the college’s Honors Program.
April 17-19 The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Mitby Theatre
The season will close with the interactive and engaging musical comedy “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”. The beloved musical tells the story of spelling bee contestants who yearn for much more than a trophy. The play is based on a book by Rachel Sheinkin and music by William Finn. The show will be directed by David Pausch (who previously directed “Rock of Ages,” “She Kills Monsters” and “Harvey” at Madison College), with music direction by Madison College instructor Jamie Kember.
