What does Veterans Day mean to you?

Madison College Liberal Arts Transfer student and Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Tiffany Gorges recently talked to Channel 3, Channel 15 and Channel 27 about the importance of this special holiday.

Gorges told the TV stations "The men and women who put this uniform on every day, we do it for everyone. It doesn’t matter what you look like, what you look like, who you love, we put that uniform for everyone. We will protect everyone.”

During her nearly 20 years of service, Gorges has served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and saved the life of a civilian contractor during a mortar attack.

Madison College has about 700 student veterans. The college was recently recognized by G.I. Jobs magazine as a top Military Friendly® school. According to the publication's rankings, Madison College is third in the "Large Community Colleges" category. That's the highest ranking of any Wisconsin college or university.
