Tournament returns December 13-14, 2024

Madison College’s 60Eight Basketball Tournament high-flying holiday hoop action crowned Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings champs last weekend.

Madison College has hosted the boys' hoops tournament for three years, and it has grown in excitement each year, says Bill Kegler, Madison College's Athletics, Fitness, and Recreation Facilities and Enterprise Operations Manager.

“The crowd and participants helped create the perfect basketball environment with high energy and phenomenal competition,” Kegler said. “The 60Eight Basketball tournament has cemented itself as the premiere high school basketball tournament in Madison, and we look forward to December 13-14, 2024.”

At the December 2023 tournament, Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings edged out the Lakeville North Panthers, 68-31, in the championship game. The eight-team, six-game event featured a four-team bracket that included the Onalaska Hilltoppers and Verona Wildcats. Find full 2023 60Eight Basketball Tournament results.

Oshkosh North Spartans (86-84) triumphed over Stoughton Vikings, and Waunakee Warriors (85-75) outwitted the Lake Mills L-Cats at the December 16 showcase games. Oshkosh North’s Stevie Clark was named game 1 MVP and Waunakee’s Jake Bova took the MVP honor for game 2.

The 60eight tournament, hosted at H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium, showcases state championship-level programs and athletes each year. Five-star Duke commit Kon Knuppel (Wisconsin Lutheran) took the tournament MVP this year.

The 2023 tournament also spotlighted NCAA Division I commits, including Lakeville North's Jack Robison (Wisconsin), Onalaska's Evan Anderson (South Dakota), Oshkosh North's Stevie Clark (Colgate), alongside NCAA Division II commit Ty Fernholz (Michigan Tech) from Stoughton.

Along with thrilling on-court action, spectators feel the excitement with halftime contests, prizes, T-shirt toss and a live DJ.
