Modou Lamin Badjie named a 2026 Wisconsin Technical College System Student Ambassador

Modou (Mola) Lamin Badjie found the support and hands-on learning he was seeking at Madison College. Now, he has been selected as a 2026 Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Student Ambassador.

Badjie is pursuing his Associate of Science Degree in Science, Math and Technology at Madison College in the University Transfer Program. He plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and eventually a master’s degree in physical therapy.

Badjie serves as President of Madison College’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and was drawn to the college’s focus on practical, career-ready skills and clear pathways for transferring to a four-year institution or entering the workforce.

“Madison College stood out as a place where I feel supported, valued and prepared to grow academically and professionally while planning confidently for my future,” he said.

Each year, one student from each of Wisconsin’s 16 technical colleges is selected to represent WTCS and its students statewide.

In honoring the new ambassadors at a ceremony last week, WTCS President Layla Merrifield said, “Your presence here is a testament to your hard work, commitment and genuine desire to lead within your chosen fields. You earned your place by demonstrating exceptional character, dedication and initiative.”
