Students take top honors in Agricultural Machinery Service Tech competition
Madison College students excelled at the Agricultural Machinery Service Technician (AMST) state competition, securing first, second, fourth and 16th places at the Feb. 8 event in Fennimore.
Congratulations to the first-place team of Nick Hoffmann and Charlie Lembke, whose hard work and skill shone brightly. Josh Lalor and Nick Drissel demonstrated remarkable talent to earn second place, while Emily Vick and Lydia Meinholz showed great expertise, finishing fourth. Daniel Perez-Martinez and Logan Reilly rounded off the college's participation in 16th place.

Madison College also took five of the top six awards in the Wisconsin Professional Agriculture Student (PAS) contest. Nick Hoffmann placed first, Charlie Lembke took second, Josh Lalor placed third, Nick Drissel earned fourth, and Emily Vick came in sixth.
The event brought together 16 teams and 32 talented individuals from colleges across Wisconsin, including Madison College, North Central Technical College, Southwest Technical College, and Northwood Technical College.
Six teams from the state competition will advance to the National Professional Agriculture Student Contest from March 17-20, 2025, in Sheridan, Wyoming. Madison College will send six students to compete in next month's national event.
The Wisconsin Professional Agriculture Student AMST Contest is an incredible opportunity for Wisconsin technical college students to showcase their skills. Participants demonstrated their expertise in various agricultural equipment stations, including tractors, implements, precision measuring, parts identification, a case study on artificial intelligence in agriculture, and a written exam.
