To become a Madison College student, you must apply for admission or register for a class. If you have done this already, the Start of Semester Checklist below will help you be ready for your first day of classes at MATC.

To get started as a new international student at Madison College, please carefully review and complete the Next Steps for International Students.

  • 1.

    Activate Your Student Account

All students at Madison College must have an active student account. If you haven’t done so already, activate your account for access to:

    • The myMadisonCollege student portal
    • Blackboard

Learn more about creating your student account.

  • 2.

    Prepare for Class Registration

If you have been accepted into a program, you will be invited to attend Advising & Registration or orientation to get enrolled in classes. Some programs have mandatory sessions, so watch your personal email for more information.

If you would like to start preparing for your session now, or if you are simply taking some classes, check out the Registration Checklist to learn more about how to register.

  • 3.

    Apply for Financial Assistance

Need help paying for college? Different types of financial assistance may be available to those who qualify.

    • Financial aid
    • Scholarships
    • Veterans benefits

Note: Most types of financial assistance require acceptance into an eligible program of study; however, external scholarships and state veterans benefits may not.

  • 4.

    Attend WolfPack Welcome

Look for an invite to attend Madison College’s campus-wide orientation for all new, first-time students. There are many things you will learn about at WolfPack Welcome, some of which include:

Textbooks: Required textbooks are listed in the class description of your Student Center class schedule.

OneCard: Your student ID will be used for identification purposes and access to the library, and it also can be used for debit card services on campus.

Parking Pass/Bus Pass: You can pick up your parking permit from Public Safety at the Truax campus in Room B1240. Free bus passes are also available in the Student Life Office at the Truax campus in Room A2020.

  • 5.

    Pay for Classes

Tuition is due each semester by the tuition due date. You may also find it helpful to start familiarizing yourself with the college's refund policy and available payment options.

Credit classes are billed electronically through your Student Center. Paper bills are not mailed.

Stay in the loop! Watch your Student Center for To-Do List items and alerts, and check your student email regularly for updates.
