Adam Eichstedt awarded Sports Information Director of the Year honor

The 2023-24 Sports Information Director of the Year award was presented to Adam Eichstedt, Athletic Communications & Marketing Coordinator, at the recent College Sports Communicators annual conference in Las Vegas.

This prestigious award is given by the Two-Year Sports Information Directors of America (2ySIDA). This was Eichstedt's first professional conference.

In addition, Madison College was recognized as the 2ySIDA Sports Information Department of the Month in January. This places Eichstedt on the list of finalists for the annual award, announced during the chapter’s annual meeting at the College Sports Communicators Unite 24 Convention.

“I’m tremendously honored and humbled to be given this award from such an amazing group of colleagues doing unbelievable work nationwide," Eichstedt said. "This award is as much about our department as it is about me. Athletic Director Jason Verhelst, a mentor with over two decades of experience in this position, has laid the foundation for me to thrive. Additionally, the rest of the Athletics staff and our coaches were also instrumental in making this award possible by supporting me in promoting our student-athletes.”

The College Sports Communicators is a national association for strategic, creative, and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada.
