Madison College and UW-Stout partnership expands hospitality career pathways

Madison College's new articulation agreement with the University of Wisconsin–Stout will pave the way for hospitality management students to continue their education and earn a Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management (HRTM).
Under the agreement, students who complete their Associate of Applied Science in Hospitality Management at Madison College will receive guaranteed admission to UW-Stout’s HRTM program. Students will enter with a junior-level standing and receive a minimum of 61 credits, with just 59 credits remaining to complete their bachelor’s degree.
The partnership supports long-term growth in the dynamic world of hospitality and tourism, says Dr. Lynea LaVoy, Program Director and Department Chair of Hospitality Management.
"This is a major win for our students," LaVoy says. "We are grateful to everyone who helped bring this agreement to life. It affirms the strength and value of our hospitality management degree while providing students with the opportunity to continue their education at a respected UW institution."
This agreement joins a growing list of transfer partnerships designed to offer students options to pursue their bachelor's degree.
Madison College hospitality management students also benefit from internship partnerships with the Disney College Program, local hotels and restaurants, tourism boards, and national brands. Students elevate their learning through this strong network of academic and real-world experiences.
These partnerships, supported by dedicated industry professionals on the program's advisory board, ensure students graduate not only with a degree but with valuable connections and career momentum.
