Madison College Scholars of Promise Offers Tuition Assistance

Students fill out applications at the Scholars of Promise Apply Day last year.

Scholars of Promise (SoP) will host its SoP Apply Day event on Tuesday, March 5 from 5-8 p.m. at the Goodman South Campus to help students with tuition assistance.

The Scholars of Promise program provides low-income, graduating high school seniors an opportunity to access a college education without worrying about how to pay for it.

Since its creation in 2017, SoP students have received nearly $1 million in funding.

High school seniors will receive assistance with the completion of the Scholars of Promise application process, including the Madison College Program Application, student account activation, FAFSA, placement testing, etc.

“SoP Apply Day was created to assist our students with completing all materials to be accepted into the program,” says Scholars of Promise Manager Shanai Kaashagen. “As a daughter of a single mother and first-generation student of color, I know firsthand how challenging to complete the necessary steps to go to college. It is important to me that we welcome parents and guardians to attend this event as your support makes a difference.

Kaashagen encourages people to attend this event and learn more about what Madison College Scholars of Promise has to offer.

Friends and family are welcome at the March 5 event. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
