Madison College District Board of Trustees has restarted the presidential search and expects to name a new Madison College president by early April.

Recruitment for the presidential search will take place through mid-December. Up to five semi-finalists will be recommended to the board in late January, with on-campus interviews in early March.

In October, the board voted to restart the presidential search after one of the three finalists, Dr. Carlos Cortez, withdrew from the presidential search process. The board determined that, with only two candidates remaining, we did not have the breadth of options necessary to make the best possible choice for Madison College. To ensure continuity, the board selected current Madison College Executive Vice President of Student Affairs, Dr. Tim Casper, to serve as interim president, effective upon the retirement of President Jack Daniels in January.

The board’s priority has been and will continue to be finding the right long-term leader for Madison

College. This commitment remains unwavering. I am confident these next few months will yield an innovative, caring, and dedicated leader for Madison College, and someone who will bring this community into an exciting future.

Gold Hill Associates will restart the presidential search under the original contract with no additional expenses incurred due to restarting the search process.

The original search committee has been invited to participate in the restarted process. The board will ask other college employees and community members to join the committee to fill vacancies.
