Watertown campus offers national EMT testing

Published:

In an exciting move for local EMT students, Madison College is now administering the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exams at its Watertown campus.

This testing site enhances accessibility for EMT program students, allowing them to take their EMT, advanced EMT, and paramedic exams in a familiar and convenient environment. For several years, students had to travel to Pearson Vue Professional Centers, often facing long wait times and added travel burdens to reach locations in Madison or beyond.

Recent discussions with NREMT leadership have led to an agreement that permits the Watertown testing center to administer these critical exams.

"This change is a significant win for our students, particularly given the high demand for our EMT classes," said Madison College Dean of Regional Campuses Shawna Marquardt. "By offering this exam conveniently on our campus, we not only ease the burden on our students but also establish Watertown as an official National Registry EMT testing location, benefiting a broader community."

Since the agreement was finalized in late June, Madison College Watertown has successfully administered the exam to several EMT program completers.
