Bryan Woodhouse named chief executive officer of Madison College Foundation

The Madison College Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Bryan Woodhouse as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 2025.

Woodhouse assumes this leadership role following the retirement of Tammy Thayer, who has served as CEO since 2012. Under Thayer’s leadership, the Foundation significantly expanded its scholarship programs, launched new initiatives to support students facing emergency needs, and strengthened donor engagement across the region.

Woodhouse has served as Vice President of Development for the Madison College Foundation since January 2024, and prior to that, as Dean and Vice President of Corporate and Regional Affairs at Madison College.

Woodhouse played a key role in building partnerships with employers, K-12 schools, and community organizations.

As the Foundation’s CEO, he will guide efforts to grow support for scholarships, emergency grants, and program investments that help ensure every student has access to education, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Incoming Madison College President Dr. Jennifer Berne looks forward to a close and productive partnership with Woodhouse.

“The Foundation plays a pivotal role in meeting our students’ most urgent needs in order to pave the way for their future success,” said Dr. Berne. “I’m excited to partner with Bryan and our many committed donors to deepen our impact across the community. Together, we will continue expanding the pathways that allow every student to achieve their full potential.”

“Bryan’s leadership and vision are exactly what the Foundation needs at this exciting moment in its history,” added Katie Hottmann, incoming President of the Madison College Foundation Board. “He brings a powerful combination of strategic thinking and personal commitment to our mission.”

Woodhouse has more than 25 years of experience in education and workforce development, and he holds a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University Wisconsin.

“I am honored to step into this role and continue supporting Madison College and its students in meaningful ways,” said Woodhouse. “The Foundation plays a vital role in supporting the college and in opening doors for students who face financial obstacles. I look forward to working with our generous supporters and partners to expand that impact.”

The Madison College Foundation provides millions in annual support for scholarships, emergency assistance, and capital improvements that directly benefit students. Under Woodhouse’s leadership, the Foundation will continue to empower students to achieve their academic and career goals.
