Madison College fall concert series features six free performances, Oct. 23-Dec. 22

Fans of live music can enjoy free performances by students and community members during the Madison College Fall Concert Series, Oct. 23 to Dec. 22 at Madison College’s Mitby Theater and the Wisconsin State Capitol.

The concert series features the Choral Collective, World Drumming Ensemble, Big Band and Jazz Band, Community Orchestra and Municipal Band.

The Madison College Music Program provides students and community members with opportunities to perform in a community ensemble. Each ensemble performs on campus and in the surrounding communities throughout the year.

Highlights of the concert series include the Madison Community Orchestra and Madison College Choral Collective performing select movements from Handel’s Messiah, as well as the Community Orchestra's annual holiday concert at the State Capitol. The World Drumming Ensemble will perform traditional Brazilian-style drumming, and the Municipal Band will perform pieces by George Gershwin and Duroje Gwamna. The Big Band and Jazz Band will perform uniquely American music by Duke Ellington, Ayn Inserto and Christian McBride. 

The concerts offer community members an opportunity to experience live music performed by Madison College students and community ensemble members.
