Madison College sells land to Habitat for Humanity

Madison College announces the sale of land to Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha and Jefferson Counties, which will soon be home to 12 families.

The sale of two vacant, 4 -acre parcels, located across from Madison College’s Watertown campus, was completed last week. The land was surplus and was made available for purchase via a request for proposals process. The City of Watertown approved the use of the property, allowing for the sale to Habitat for Humanity.

It will be the first Habitat project in the City of Watertown, with the organization building six twin homes. Construction is expected to start this fall, with families in their homes next year.

"We are pleased that Habitat for Humanity was able to purchase the land and support access to affordable housing," said Sylvia Ramirez, Madison College executive vice president, finance & administration. "Madison College is committed to fostering strong communities where our neighbors can thrive and prosper. We look forward to the future success of these new Habitat homeowners.”

A gala celebration of the project is planned for June 2026 at the Madison College Watertown campus.

“We’re honored to partner with such an important institution like Madison College to bring Habitat’s mission to Watertown,” said Habitat for Humanity Waukesha County CEO Melissa Songco. “This project adds much-needed housing at price points hardworking families can truly afford—an exciting step toward a stronger, more connected community.”
