New exhibit showcases creativity of lifelong learners

The Gallery at Truax celebrates the creativity of lifelong learners at the Continuing Education Student Art Show.

The free exhibition opens with a public reception on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. 

Guests can enjoy refreshments, decorate cupcakes and watch live art demonstrations while exploring a diverse collection of original artwork created by students enrolled in Madison College Continuing Education art classes.

The exhibition features paintings, drawings, ceramics, jewelry and other original works created by students throughout the year.

The show reflects the wide range of media, techniques and artistic interests explored through Madison College Continuing Education. From beginners discovering a new creative outlet to experienced artists refining their skills, students learn from local teaching artists in a welcoming, community-focused environment.

The exhibition remains on display through Aug. 28 and is open to the public Fridays from 2 to 6 p.m.

Madison College Continuing Education courses are open to the community and offered year-round. Upcoming art offerings include watercolor, relief printmaking, art welding, fiber arts, oil painting and more. There are also classes in music, languages, cooking and more.
