Madison College students go gold at 2024 SkillsUSA competition

Madison College students excelled at the 2024 SkillsUSA National competition in Atlanta this summer, bringing home three gold medals.

Laura Romero Morales (Cosmetology), Armand Carlo Agbulos (Additive Manufacturing), and Cody Buchanan (Additive Manufacturing) each earned gold medals. Jeffery Powell (Collision Repair Technology) and Emma Schwantes (Pin Design) earned 8th place in their respective categories. Kailyn Collins (Job Skill Demonstration) and Lily Hall (Welding Sculpture) secured 6th and 19th place, respectively.

Madison College students and SkillsUSA WI state officers Jake Anderson, Ben Strupp, and Emma Schwantes showcased their skills at the national event. Madison College faculty and staff contributed to the college's competitive performance.

Accolades for students and advisors

“To the advisors, coaches, and all of the staff that prepared and supported our SkillsUSA students – thank you for all of the work you have put in over the past year and beyond,” President Daniels said. “Our students did very well, and I’m extremely proud of their accomplishments.” 

The SkillsUSA Nationals is a highly competitive event featuring over 6,000 state champions from across the United States competing in 115 skilled and leadership competitions.

SkillsUSA is a career and technical student organization that serves over 395,000 high school, college, and middle school students and professional members, providing training programs in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations.
