Traffic Safety-Point Reduction is a program to reduce points on your driving record and is available to anyone. This is not for initial licensure or on the road training.

Group Dynamics is taken for your first OWI offense and requires an assessment and Driver Safety Plan (MV3633 & MV3634).

Multiple Offender is taken when you have two or more OWI charges and requires an assessment and Driver Safety Plan (MV3633 & MV3634).

All Traffic Safety Education courses are 100% face to face, on-campus instruction.  Students coming to campus must follow campus safety protocol.

  • Traffic Safety-Point Reduction

    The Traffic Safety School program is designed to reduce the number of violations and crashes in Wisconsin. You will examine your driving behavior and review traffic laws and penalties. Emphasis is placed on ways to drive responsibly. The Traffic Safety School program will show you how to develop a change plan to reduce the risk of traffic violations and crashes. There is a minimum of 15 classroom hours in this program. Depending on your Wisconsin driving record status, a three-demerit point reduction to your current record may be requested upon successful completion of the course. You may take this class once in a three-year period for point reduction.

  • Group Dynamics - 1st OWI

    The Group Dynamics program is a highway safety initiative within Wisconsin, which aims to assist persons involved in their first alcohol/other drug-related traffic offense to make permanent changes in their irresponsible drinking and driving behavior and attitudes. There is a minimum of 24 classroom hours contained in this alcohol/other drug education program. Depending on the students’ Wisconsin driving record status, a three-demerit point reduction to their current record may be requested upon successful completion of the course.
     
    Currently, access to campus requires an appointment, please call/email to schedule one. Registration for these classes is in person at the Truax Campus - Protective Services Building, 1701 Pearson St. Room 100, Madison, WI 53704. To register for Group Dynamic classes you must bring a copy of your assessment, your payment, and your picture ID. Tuition is due at the time of registration. We are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Multiple Offender - 2 or more OWIs

    The Multiple Offender Program is a specialized education course for individuals who have received two or more Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) charges. In addition to providing alcohol education, the course will focus on modifying the unhealthy attitudes and behaviors that foster repeat irresponsible impaired driving. The course emphasizes strategies and techniques that assist individuals in changing high-risk attitudes and behaviors related to alcohol, other drugs, and driving. Small group sessions and participation of a concerned other, at a minimum of two sessions, along with self-evaluation techniques will be utilized. The course is conducted over 32 classroom hours and a follow-up evaluation three months after the last classroom session. Depending on the students’ Wisconsin driving record status, a three-demerit point reduction to their current record may be requested upon successful completion of the course.
